Overview

SAMSA is a tool that enables the analysis of participatory aspects of collaborative learning. SAMSA enables non-experts to perform social network analysis of groups. It takes data from log files that comply with a standarized format (common format). It allows the user to configure the network in a flexible way, and computes a set of indexes and shows a sociogram representing the network(see below).

SAMSA is a research work of the Intelligent & Cooperative Systems Research Group (GSIC). This software is developed and maintained by Alejandra Martínez Monés and Jose Antonio Marcos-García.

Install SAMSA

System requirements

Hardware

  • Processor: Pentium II 350 or later.
  • Memory: RAM 256 MB o superior.
  • Hard disk: 10 MB free.

Software

  • Java Virtual Machine, v. 1.6 or later.
  • Graphviz. A graph visualization software used to display sociograms in SAMSA GraphvizSetup.exe

    • Download Samsa.jar
    • Open a terminal window in your computer and execute: java -jar Samsa.jar
